Local Scholarship Information

These were the local scholarships offered during the 2017-2018 school year. The counseling department anticipates the ability to offer these opportunities in the 2018-2019 school year. However, scholarship offerings are subject to change. Keep checking back here and on the "Return of the Mack!" Scholarship newsletter for updates. 

  • Andy Neitzer Scholarship - This $500 scholarship will be awarded to the essay winner.
  • Austin Lee Mauerman Memorial Scholarship - One $1000 Scholarship for a senior who will be attending college or trade school after graduation.
  • Clyde Aeschliman Memorial Scholarship (Deer Creek American Legion) - Sponsored by Deer Creek American Legion Post #1276. One $1,000 scholarship will be given. It will be awarded to a senior and will be made on the basis of desire to continue education, ability to succeed, and the ‘best judged’ answer to the question “What is your philosophy concerning the responsibilities of youth to the future of America?” The decisions of the committee, composed of the members of the Education and Scholarship Committee, will be final.
  • Darci Patton Scholarship - $1000 Scholarship given to a senior pursuing a career in science.
  • Deer Creek Sons of the American Legion Scholarship (Deer Creek American Legion) - Two $500 scholarships will be given at Award's Night for the Deer Creek Sons of the American Legion.
  • Deer Creek Legion Auxiliary #1276 - One $500 scholarship given to a senior girl that is a descendant of a veteran.
  • Gladys Garst Memorial Scholaship (Deer Creek-Mackinaw Education Association) - A $750 scholarship will be awarded on the basis of scholarship, extracurricular activities, civic and church activities, and educational goals.
  • Hammer Memorial Scholarship - A $500 scholarship will be awarded on the basis of need, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership.
  • High School Teacher's Scholarship - A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a senior with the winning essay.
  • Hunkler-Stagen Teaching Scholarship – A $3000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior that is going into the teaching field.
  • Kenton Barrick Memorial Scholarship - This $500 scholarship will be awarded to the senior student with the winning essay.
  • Mack-Ca-Fest - $500 - This scholarship will be awarded to a student with the best essay.
  • Mackinaw American Legion Scholarship - A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student with a 2.0 or higher GPA who has demonstrated exceptional hard work, exhibited a desire to continue their education, and has exhibited financial need.
  • Mackinaw Masonic Lodge Scholarship - A $500 scholarship is awarded to a student in the top 15 of the class with high moral value.
  • Mark A. Wiegand Memorial Agricultural Scholarship - $500 – This scholarship will be given at Award's Night to a senior pursuing a degree in Ag Engineering, Ag Business, Crop Science, Ag Career Training, Ag Technical Training, Ag Mechanics, Animal Science or Horticulture.
  • Walcott-Williams Scholarship - $500 - This scholarship is given in memory of Mr. & Mrs. Ovie Walcott and Dr. & Mrs. A. F. Williams.

Area Scholarships:

  • Triangle of Opportunity Scholarship - The Triangle of Opportunity sponsors a yearly $500.00 scholarship to a graduating senior from a high school within the region of the Triangle. Your school is within this region. The application form can be found on our web site under the scholarship tab. This application form gives the student the details concerning their application: the due date, the essay, letters of recommendation, along with how and where to send the application.
